Forget about the old methods of getting used to not having a home button pretty quickly. But some of us are just too old school so we found out a way to bring back the home Button which is an (albeit in virtual form). The process is very simple.

General > Accessibility > AssistiveTouch and turn it on. You’ll now see a virtual home button that you can customize to activate shortcuts. Another method you can use is to go home with a single-tap, then double-tap, long press, or 3D Touch to access the mighty virtual button. For Apple pay double-click the side button on the right-hand side of the device, it will open up Apple Pay. This makes it easier for you to pay bills without having to take your debit or credit card out of your wallet.

Remember: In some ways this virtual home button is more versatile than a physical one. You don’t have to place it where the real button used to be — it can be place anywhere along the sides of the display.

3. Unlock with face ID faster and Swiping the bottom Edge to return Home

Face ID is usually so accurate that you can just swipe up — no need to wait for the padlock icon to open when the TrueDepth camera is held directly in front of your face. The Home indicator line is also used for going back to the home screen when you have an app open. And swiping from the bottom edge while on the Home screen will take you back to page one — which comes in handy if you have multiple app icon pages.

Its very easy to change the security feature in case for whatever reason you find yourself in a situation where you don’t want Face ID to be your primary form of security. Just like that, you can quickly deactivate it.

To close Apps that are open you will need to activate the App Switcher by swiping from the Home Indicator at the bottom and dragging the app over to the right. Then push down on an app for a few seconds until you see a red button at the top of each app card. Then you can slide up on the app just like you would on other iPhones or tap on the red button to close the app.

Swipe down on the gesture bar, immediately after the activation of Rechability and the entire screen will slide down and you can swipe down right above the upper right app icons. 

7. Force Reset Your iPhone X and Quiet alarms with your Face

Phones at times just need a reset to process the functionalities well or maybe after a repair. To do a hard reset on the iPhone X is very simple.

  1. Tap and release the volume up button
  2. Simply tap and release the volume down button
  3. Hold down the side button on the right-hand button for a few seconds until you notice the device restart and show the Apple logo that appears when the power is turned on.

On iPhone X, you don’t need to hit snooze. After picking it up, the Face ID will look for your face, and if it sees it, it’ll automatically lower the volume. Just like that!

8. Animoji as stickers and Additional Face ID Controls

You can toggle “Attention Aware Features” on or off — which essentially controls whether your alarm clock alert will fade out and the display will dim once you pick up your iPhone X and look at it after waking up. Face ID controls under the Settings app > Face ID & Passcode “Require Attention for Face ID” will require users to look directly at the front-facing camera to unlock the device. This is a special feature as it prevents someone from unlocking your device after they point it at you while you are sleeping.

On the Iphone X you can send Animoji as videos, you can also pose them and send them as iMessage stickers. Just open up the Animoji recording feature as you normally would by tapping the App store icon to the right of the camera button. Create the Animoji face pose you want and then tap it, and it’ll automatically be placed inside of the text input box for sending as a sticker.

9. ‘Zoom To Fill’ The YouTube App and Force to quit apps

First, you need to bring up the App Switcher. Then, you need to long-press on the app until a little red minus symbol appears in the left corner. You can tap on the minus symbol to force quit an app or swipe up on an app.
